So combine tangy capers and pickled gherkins with a healthy portion of mayonnaise to add a little bite to your fish supper, and say ta ta to any fears of a borderline beige meal…


  • 300 ml Light mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons drained capers
  • 1 large gherkin
  • 1/2 White onion
  • 1/2 lemon


  1. Finely chop your gherkin and your onion.

  2. Mix your capers, sliced gherkin and onion into your mayonnaise.

  3. Squeeze lemon over the sauce and season with salt and pepper (yes, it really is that simple!).

  4. Serve there and then, or store in the fridge for a rainy day (or any day for that matter).
